LQ Charity Partnership

Linen Quarter Business Improvement District is home to over 350 organisations including a number of charities and non-profit organisations. Since our inception, we have been supporting charities on an ad-hoc basis – our Annual Dinner in January has supported a number of organisations including NOW Group and BCM, while we have leased our assets for free to NICHS to carry out fundraising activities and we have supported many others through awareness raising in our newsletter and other channels.

In recognition of the increasing demands on charities at this time – where the cost of living crisis has increased demand for services while inflation, rises in national insurance and other factors are impacting the ability to provide these services – we have decided to formalise our charity support and fundraising efforts and appoint a nominated charity of the year for a two year period 2025-2027.

We’re delighted that after a lengthy application process, Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke where appointed as our Chairt Partner (2025-2027) at our AGM in June 2025. LQ BID have made an initial £2500 donation to NICHS to kickstart the partnership, and have started work on a program of activity which levypayers and local employees can suppport.

To date we have hosted a number events including a charity pub quiz and a sponsored static cycle and we are also sponsoring teams from several organisations to take part in the Belfast City Marathon. For upcoming events and initiatives visit linenquarter.org/events
