Infrastructure Audits

As a valued member of the Department for Infrastructure led 'Belfast City Centre Task & Finish Group', the BID conducts regular audits of the District to identify any infrastructure issues that adversely impact the streetscape. Examples include damaged and redundant street furniture, faded road markings, damaged street signage, excessive weed growth and blocked drainages.

Our first infrastructure audit during May 2025 identified 88 issues. You can find the audit report here.

After referral to the Department for Infrastructure, 55 of these issues have been rectified as of September 2025. This includes renewed road markings across 11 locations; removal of excessive weed growth across 10 locations; removal of 16 redundant street posts; removal of redundant street signage across 15 locations; as well as replacement/repairs of bicycle racksĀ  cycle lane bollards and utility boxes.

A second audit was conducted during September 2025, with a further 26 issues identified and referred to the Department for Infrastructure. You can find the report here.
