Safe & Clean Week – Autumn ’24

VOLUNTEER DAY

We started SACW with a volunteer planting event, where representatives from Andras House, Voco Hotel, CME and Arup added some greenery and colour to our district. This was our second volunteer day and we had a turnout of 20 people who visited Dublin Road, Bankmore Square and Great Victoria Street. Keep an eye out when we approach spring for daffodils and tulips.

FLORAL MURAL

Throughout Safe and Clean Week, our artist, Dean Kane completed a mural at the rear of Bedford House. The aim was to brighten up the street and address concerns about repeated graffiti.

DRUGS DOG

Our officers were joined by Harry the Springer Spaniel to patrol the district, provide reassurance and engage with the public.

ENDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN EVENT

On 24.10.24 LQB hosted a panel discussion, open to members and anyone with an interest in this space.

Our panel featured Tahnee McCorry, CEO White Ribbon, Night Czar Michael Stewart, Prof Claire Archbold and Supt Finola Dornan.

After a Q&A with Amanda Ferguson, guests had the opportunity to sign the White Ribbon Pledge. Thanks to our speakers and all who participated in this vital conversation.

PSNI BIKE PATROLS

Safe and Clean Week concluded with PSNI bike patrols across the district. Our officers are happy to engage with businesses & the public to provide reassurance.
