LQ Deep Clean

Recently, the Linen Quarter BID funded the enhanced cleaning of the Thomas Thompson fountain on Ormeau Avenue.

In addition, we had planned a Big Spring Clean for Friday 20.03.2020. This would have involved getting members from the local business community to volunteer their time to carry out a litter pick in our district. We were delighted to team up with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, Belfast City Council and Starbucks. We received a great response from our members who were willing to participate. Our Linen Quarter Clean Team were also enlisted to lead on this.

However, in keeping with government guidance, and putting the health of our volunteers first, we reluctantly had to put the event on hold.

We decided that our Clean Team, who are currently still in operation, would continue with an enhanced Spring Clean. They did this safely, in reduced numbers and practiced social distancing. Taking the appropriate precautions, they carried out enhanced washing in some of our busiest streets, as well as graffiti removal and litter picking.
You will see from the photos that they did a great job in keeping our district clean and vibrant in these uncertain times.

We look forward to being able to facilitate another Clean Up event when it is appropriate and safe to do so. We will let our members know via our usual channels.

In the meantime, if you would like more information on our Clean Team, or have an outdoor cleansing issue you would like addressed, please contact charlotte@linenquarter.org.
