Street Beat Update

As restrictions have lifted and footfall into the City Centre has dramatically increased, unfortunately so has anti-social behaviour. Members have been in contact with the BID, reporting similar concerns around increased drug use, retail crime and other issues.

As part of our objective to make the Linen Quarter more Safe and Secure, the BID funds a dedicated policing service for members to engage with directly. Those members who use the service find it extremely useful to have a key contact in the PSNI who works with local stakeholders to identify and solve problems. Our officers have excellent local knowledge and are aware of the issues many businesses are facing.

This month, our dedicated officer has addressed anti-social behaviour concerns raised by levy payers, carried out arrests and has ongoing dialogue with the BID to maintain safer streets.
