Free Powerwash to LQ Businesses

Supporting Hotels in June/July 2020

As part of Linen Quarter BID’s effort to support the return of hospitality, our Clean Team have been working hard to ensure our venues receive some TLC after being closed for almost four months.

During lockdown, the Clean Team had continued to provide enhanced street washing and litter removal as well as monitoring vacant buildings. However, once this welcome news came, the BID put plans in place to ensure hospitality venues in our busiest areas were tended to.

Often starting in the middle of the night, the team spent hours deep cleaning the pavements, doorways, and entrances to ensure our district is looking its best.

The operatives, who continue to work in reduced numbers and adhere to social distancing, use specialised vehicles equipped with power washing machinery.

Working alongside Belfast City Council

We were also pleased to partner with Belfast City Council’s street cleansing team, to pool resources and ensure the key areas were covered. The Street Cleansing team addressed issues such as waste removal and weeding as well as power washing.

In addition, they took care of the area surrounding our historic Ulster Hall, which has recently been used as a food hub. The photographs speak for themselves.

Reopening of Restaurants and #Eatouttohelpout

The LQ BID is home to many small cafes, bars and high-end restaurants, and therefore welcomed the Chancellor’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme. To support the reopening and the anticipated footfall, the Clean Team are working to schedule, ensuring that the areas surrounding our restaurants and bars are covered.

Free Powerwash
