In 2023, 16 organisations faced off in our first ever Inter Company Pétanque tournament with Navigator Blue taking the inaugural trophy.
In 2024, Pétanque fever spread and 28 LQ BID member organisations took part with NI Chest Heart and Stroke coming out on top. BBC’s The One Show even popped down to Blackstaff Square to shoot a segment which was broadcast earlier this year. (You can watch that here)
2025 Tournament Now Underway
Can NI Chest, Heart & Stroke successfully defend their title? Registrations are now closed and Round 1 is now in our 3rd Annual Pétanque Tournament which will take place over lunchtimes in late July & August.
Winners will receive our coveted trophy, personalised with their company name so that they can show it off over the next year, as well as a £300 voucher for the Observatory Bar at the Grand Central Hotel.

If you missed out on the tournament registrations but would still like to have a go, we keep a set of Boules at the nearby Maldron Hotel which you can borrow for free at any time and use the Piste. Check out the rules at the short video below.
