Profile | Ormeau Baths
Partner Stories / 27th May 2021
To celebrate Bike Week kicking off this Sunday 30th May, LQ BID want to take the opportunity to profile Ormeau Baths, and acknowledge what the people behind the glass doors are doing to support their members – and in particular, those who cycle to work!
Ormeau Baths – an entrepreneurial campus!
Located in the heart of Belfast’s Linen Quarter, Ormeau Baths occupy a prominent position on the popular Ormeau Avenue, just south of Belfast City Hall, between the intersections of Linenhall Street and Adelaide Street. What was once a former Victorian Bath House, the heritage-listed building is now a converted and award-winning coworking space, shared between local entrepreneurs, artists, writers, and designers (to name but a few!).
With neighbouring occupiers including, BBC, Deloitte, and The Clayton Hotel – the unique hub is vastly becoming a popular location for meetings, events and more! And with its own active community, connecting members with benefits and rewards for being a part of the Baths, there was no better time for Ormeau Baths to become LQ BID’s first cycling champion.
What benefits can members reap from cycling?
To highlight their commitment to support employees, and for a more sustainable city, Ormeau Baths is setting a fantastic example to other businesses within the district, by becoming an officially accredited business following completion of an online assessment, and site visit from Cycling UK.
With an internal bike storage facility, with space for ten bikes and two adjacent shower rooms, the accreditation programme proves Ormeau Bath’s commitment to not only encourage more staff to make use of their bike, but by supporting staff who do cycle, giving them all of the facilities, they need to make their commute, to and from work more convenient.
Oh and there’s a fantastic coffee shop, located at the Baths – even more reason to work up a sweat and visit Napoleon Coffee for a sweet treat and your morning coffee fix!
